Who am I [EN]

May 7, 2024

I am a young Developer from Husum, Germany. Since 7th grad (I was 13 back then) I am interested in programming. In school we made cute little games in scratch, later programmed Lego-Mindstorm robots.

A year later, I got my first PC and started to learn text-based programming. I chose C++ as my first language, because, like many devs, I wanted to create my own game. Sadly once I wanted to create apps with a GUI, I struggled so hard with the Qt framework, that I gave up on it. Not that much later, we got to work with programmable microcontrollers in school.

I had an insane amount of fun, and was pretty good at it. Since I finished the given Tasks so fast, I did many things with it, I wasnt supposed to. A year later, when we were allowed to work with arduinos, that got to a whole other level.

I don't remember exactly how much later it was, that I got into web development with html, css, js and php. Soon after I got my first webserver. I was pretty amazed by css and even watched people doing CSS-Battles in my freetime.

At the same time we got further with Java in school, and I was annoyed by AWT looking that ugly. So I jumped right into JavaFX. Sadly I never got the app working out of my device, since I couldn't manage to pack javafx into the .jar.

Eventually I got an iPad to take notes, and discovered Swift Playgrounds. I had lots of fun with swift, so much, I traded my gaming pc in for an intel macbook air.

I started an Udemy course, but it was too outdated, so I ditched it and tought me everything myself by doing smaller projects and letting ChatGPT do code-reviews.

Now I got the luck to know experienced Swift Developers that help me constantly improving my codequality. So there I am now. Doing a huge fullstack swift project by myself (post will follow soon).
